| The Eurocycle
2008 event is a charity cycle run being
undertaken by Father Stephen Sharkey, from the Parish of Lockerbie and
Moffat, and Captain Kevin Doyle a Master with P&O (Irish Sea) aboard
“European Highlander” based on the short sea ferry crossing from
Cairnryan in South West Scotland to Larne, Northern Ireland.
The two cycling amigos will be undertaking a gruelling cycle from Scotland to Poland to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities - Marie Curie Cancer Care and Erskine Hospital - a charity that looks after wounded ex servicemen and their families from all conflicts. This is the third occasion that the two cycling amigos have joined forces for a good cause. In 2002 and 2005 both friends carried out similar crazy cycles events and to date they've raised 24,000 pounds for the charity. |
